WINTER
Alpine Skiing at Magic Mountain, Bromley, Okemo and Stratton are from 2 to 20 minutes away. Pico, Killington, Mount Snow, Haystack, and Maple Valley are from 30 to 50 minutes from the motel. Cross Country Touring Centersat Viking, Tater Hill, Wild Wings, Stratton and Hildene are from 5 to 30 minutes away. Restaurants abound in our area. Whether you prefer American, Chinese, Continental, Country, French, German, Italian or Swiss; from gourmet dining to an old-fashioned New England Boiled Dinner, you can have them all within 2 to 20 minutes of our driveway. |
SPRING and SUMMER

Tour the many sugar houses during maple season and take home some samples. Our area offers great fishing. Visit the Orvis Fly Fishing School and Store or the Stratton Fly Fishing School. The Bromley Alpine Slide is always a family favorite and only 10 minutes away. There is golf and tennis at Stratton, Okemo, and Tater Hill; hiking on the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail; biking on the various back roads and jeep trails; swimming at the Hapgood Pond Recreation Area; and Polo matches at Hildene. For shopping, we have it all - In nearby Weston, the Country and General Stores, Fudge Shop, Quilt and Crafts Shop, Art Galleries and Museums, or the Southern Vermont Arts Center, Hildene, and bargain hunting at the many discount shops in Manchester. Perhaps you would prefer to attend a country fair or church supper, or a play or musical at the many outstanding playhouses, or a visit to the Weston Priory (a Benedictine Monastery) for a service or even just to enjoy the spectacular view from the top of their mountain. |
FALL
The colors of Vermont in the fall are truly spectacular. The valleys and mountains are ablaze in all their glory. The cool, crisp, clean air and fall temperatures will renew and refresh you. The views from the back roads are beyond description. Enjoy a Gondola ride to the top of Stratton Mountain, have a picnic lunch, and wonder at the beautiful view of several states. Many summer activities continue throughout the fall. |
